La Jolla Pet Parade and Festival  2010

Well they will do it again this year… many proud pet owners and their pooches will be strutting their stuff in the La Jolla Pet Parade & Festival to be held on Sunday, May 23rd, 2010.

The event includes a festive sidewalk parade in the Village and a festival offering fun contests, vendor booths and an adoption fair. The event organizers are asking businesses to donate prizes for contest winners.

Proceeds will benefit SNAP, the Spay Neuter Action Project, which seeks to eliminate pet homelessness and overpopulation through education and by facilitating spaying/neutering.

Over the years, SNAP has been responsible for reducing the number of unwanted puppies and kittens in San Diego County by tens of thousands! With nearly 250 paradegoers in attendance at last years event, we raised more than $12,000 for SNAPʼs animal welfare efforts and many lucky dogs were adopted on the day of the event! Our dog and pet-friendly business community is the perfect venue for a major fundraiser for animal charity and we anticipate the event to be even more successful this year.

The fun will take place at the intersection of Silverado Street and the 7700 block of Herschel Avenue, which will be partially closed during the festivities.

Mark your calendar and plan on strutting your stuff in support of SNAP and the pet loving community in San Diego.
